Zune Firmware Update 2.4 - Wishlist
Here is my wishlist for the Zune 2.4 firmware update:
- A way to organize videos into categories such as TV Shows, Movies, Music Videos, etc…
- Games (such as Snake, Pong, Tetris, etc…)
- Ability to use Zune as an external drive
- Fixing the bug in the “Social” menu, so you can actually turn on wireless via that menu.
- East Asian Language support (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc…)
- DivX support a must
- Better organization for pictures
- Lyrics -the ability to flip the album art to view the songs lyrics (as well as having an automatic lyric download service)

January 24th, 2008 at 6:11 pmdefinitely need the games. right when the first generation zune came out, they said that there would be zune games in 18 months, which is about May or June this year, who knows? probably not though. another thing would simply be a clock to tell the time. better equalizer, it would be cool to see a play count. Also, as heath said, 10 times for sharing. VIDEO SHARING, besides the hack, that would takes hours to do though. use the wireless function for internet, which is easily capable with the internal components. that would brighten the rest of my days, or the next few months.

January 28th, 2008 at 6:01 pmIn regards to the sharing… It should download a list of what’s on the marketplace on the zune, so that you won’t be screwed over if what someone sent you isn’t avaliable on marketplace. (say if you created a mp3 file and whanted to share it, know what i mean?)

February 7th, 2008 at 7:30 amEverything is ok, but you guys forgot two things. Video playlists which they show in stores but don’t give to you, and auto playlists which would make things a lot easier. Also, the browsing the internet is kinda extensive. If you’re home and you want to go on the internet, just go on your computer in would be a lot easier and faster. Anywhere where there’s a wi-fi connection, there’s probably a computer you can use.
Divx support, games, and using it as an external harddrive without changing the registry on every computer you want to use it on is a MUST!! Lyrics would also be reallllllly cool.

February 20th, 2008 at 7:34 pm-how about total intergration like working in media player would be nice, or being able to sync content with the xbox 360… like, say shows purchased from xbox live??? it would be nice…. I mean I thought the zune was developed by the same division that developed the xbox,
-just get rid of the sharing play count restriction all together, its not like that many people own these things to worry about a napster like pandemic anyway
-I also second being able to make playlists on the go, instead if that lame quick list, at the very least I would like to be able to add or delete songs from a playlist without having to resync every time
-being able to use as an external hdd would be real nice as long as it require extra drivers or software
-oh yeah also I think it would be another nice feature they could add is to fix that rebooting issue, I mean theres nothing like being in the middle of a good song then right in the middle of the song it reboots, now ya gotta find it again
I mean damn I only bought mine cause I got for $100 if I would have had to pay the full amount $250? I honestly dont think I would have bought the Zune, not trying to bash zune but it would be nice if it worked like its competitor

April 14th, 2008 at 7:48 pmit would be nice to be able to put music on my zune without the sofware which has so many problems that its basically useless, i mean, at least for ppl who have microsoft based computers.
im still waiting on some games, updated resolutions, i could really give a rats @55 if they put in more plays, or the ability to transfer videos, but, i would like to see the ability to put AVI. files on the zune, i have a whole legally downloaded collection of animes, and family guys, and robot chickens that are all in AVI. format, and it doesnt work on the zune… i got the zune for entertainment, and i cant even put the videos id like on it, i mean really, I PAID 270 DOLLARS FOR IT, THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS MAKE IT SO I CAN USE IT…
Im not even going to mention clock…I think they get the idea about that. I mentioned the ability to sync the Zune with the 360 a loooong time ago guess no one at M$ reads any of this stuff. ZuneDJ (I should patent that) would be nice. ..the ability to select songs to play in sequence with out making playlist and stopping music. I say that because my friends like to sort through my songs and then hit play right in the middle of a song already playing UGGGHH! Not so big on the camera idea.; I have a phone and digital for that. Games…yes! Better yet, how about the ability to put your profile from the 360 onto the Zune and use it as a memory card….Maybe even put Office 07 applications as a read only file. You would think M$ and XBOX and Zune were all the same company and have thought of this. Oh and finally…AVI support!

-the thing bout office 07 apps i dont think would be necessary/i prob wouldnt use like at all..its a thing for music/videos and hopefull games/internet but i dont think having like word or ppnt on it would be uesful at all
-maybe in a future gen have a built in camera…could care lesss but could come in hand
oh and have it so all the updates are able to go with the zune 30 and stuff so ppl dont get pissed or mad that they dont get it because they have a 1st gen, i think that one thing that kicks a$$ is that they do, do that, having the firmware update for all the gens unlike ipod where you have to get the new generation to get certain add-ons..
