UCSB Spring 2007 Quarter
Well, this Spring quarter will be my last quarter is a junior at UCSB. Once next quarter ends, I will officially be a fourth year university student (aka ’senior’). This spring quarter I am going to attempt to take four classes (16 units). The four courses are:
Chicano Studies 138 - Barrio Popular Culture lead by Professor Garcia : Explores various manifestations of popular and mass culture in Chicano urban and semi-rural communities throughout the southwest. Both secular and religious cultural phenomena will be analyzed (lowriders, saints, music, etc.). Relationships to mainstream culture will be examined.
Economics 100B - Microeconomic Theory lead by Professor Kilenthong : Economic theory relating to imperfectly competitive product markets, input market, and welfare, with emphasis on applications. Includes an introduction to game theory.
Economics 136B - Intermediate Accounting lead by Professor Maass : An in-depth analysis of recognition, measurement, classification, and valuation issues in financial reporting within the framework of generally accepted accounting principles. Case studies and microcomputer analysis software will be integrated into the course.
Economics 137A - Managerial Accounting lead by Professor Watson : A two-quarter series covering the theory and application of managerial accounting concepts. The course investigates the interaction between economic theory, financial accounting, and management decision making for planning and control.
