My First Half.com Experience
Well, starting the end of September, I will begin my regular school year again. I will be a third year student (aka Junior) at UCSB. Now that I will be taking upper-division major classes for my major, books seem to get more and more over priced. The two main upper division classes I will be taking is Economics 185 (Accounting Information Systems) and Economics 118 (Financial Accounting Analysis and Planning). The two textbooks required for these two classes only add up to over $340 USD! Can someone say “RIP-OFF”!
I’ve been hearing a lot about Half.com as my roommate and a various of my friends use it. So I purchased my two textbooks for the price of one textbook at the price UCSB sells them. I saved over 50% on Half.com. I received one of my books on Tuesday and my other yesterday, Wednesday. But to my surprise, one of the books was an international edition. I was unaware of it since the site never stated it and it said it had the correct ISBN, title, author, edition, etc… So I went to the bookstore today to make sure the book, questions, text, etc… is all the same and it is! The only difference is that my internation edition is softcover and has a different textbook cover. But other than that it is exactly the same. I paid $57 for it compared to the $160 the university sell it. Such a big difference. I only have wished I actually bought my textbooks sooner.
Not only does Half.com sell school textbooks, it sells every kind of book. Whether it is a novel, encyclopedia, etc… Half.com is a sub-department of popular Ebay auction site. My overall experience with Half.com is great! Not only did I get fast shipping, the books I wanted, but I also saved a lot!
So go check out Half.com yourself and start buying and selling!
