Happy New Year Everyone!

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and I hope everyone made some good resolutions that they will keep up on.

For me, I think my new year resolution will be not so much to lose weight since I don’t really need to, but to work out on a regular basis. One of my goals is to get my endurance and stamina back up so I can run longer distances at a faster pace.

My day will consist of watching the Rose Bowl of course. It will be USC versus Michigan. I am still undecided as to who I am going for, but I hope it will be a great game and not one team dominating over the other.

John Mayer - Continuum [Review]

Like several other reviewers, I was a bit unimpressed upon first listening. Everything sounded a bit slow and dreary and I missed the old happy light pop/rock songs. Some famous ones include “No Such Thing”, “Your Body is a Wonderland”, “Bigger Than My Body”, and “New Deep”. But, after a couple of listens, these songs will seep in and you’ll realize how great this disc really is. Also as far as lyrics he’s grown leaps and bounds. Unlike other artists who sing about sex, drugs, “bling bling”, or how much money they have, John Mayer sings inspirational and real-life songs that almost everyone can relate to. John Mayer’s music isn’t only intended for the present generation to listen to, but the older generations also. His single, “Waiting on the World to Change” is played on many local radio stations. A snippet of the lyrics from his single is shown below. Please read it and you’ll realize how inspirational his songs are and how true they are.

Lyrics from “Waiting on the World to Change”:
Now we see everything is going wrong Album Art
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don’t have the means
To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Its hard to be persistent
When we’re standing at a distance
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would’ve never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on the door
When you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cuz when they own the information,
They can bend it all they want…

Lyrics from “Belief”:
Belief is a beautiful armor
And makes for the heaviest sword
Like punching underwater
You never can hit who you’re trying for
Some need the exhibition
And some have to know they tried
It’s the chemical weapon
For the war that’s raging on inside
Oh, everyone believes
From emptiness to everything
Oh, everyone believes
And no one’s going quietly
We’re never gonna win the world
We’re never gonna stop the war
We’re never gonna beat this
If belief is what we’re fighting for
What puts a hundred thousand children in the sand?
Belief can, belief can
What puts a folded flag inside his mother’s hand?
Belief can, belief can…

I highly recommend this album to anyone. This album is intended for everyone. This album can be used for enjoyment, study music, reading music, background music, lounge music, music for get together’s, amongst many others. John Mayer has certainly grown compared to his past few albums and I couldn’t agree more with many of his songs.

Now if only we can get President Bush to listen to his song “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Belief”. My Favorites include “Waiting on the World to Change”, “Belief”, “Vultures”, “Slow Dancing in the Burning Room”, “Bold As Love”, “Dreaming with a Broken Heart”, and “In Repair”.

My Ratings: 4.5 out of 5 4.5 out of 54.5 out of 54.5 out of 54.5 out of 5

Blog Back In Action

Well, I decided to revive my blog. It has been a long time since I’ve actually written in my blog, but it’s good to be back. If anyone actually reads this, I mainly write about current events dealing with technology and in general–about life.

I was a Pre-Computer Science major at the University of California, Santa Barabra, but due to the realization that this is something I am not interested as a career, I have switched my major to Business Economics with emphasis in Accounting. This is my second year at the university, and I am currently residing in the San Rafael dorms. The past few years have been awesome, and I definately look forward to the coming years. As I said before I mainly follow technology news. I try and stay up to date as possible with technology, because well frankly, most people don’t.

I am an avid reader of Slashdot.org and I try to look around the internet for more articles and information to absorb. I hope I am able to provide a decent overview and opinion of current topics in todays technology society.
